Ingredients:

  • Basmati rice
  • Hard-boiled eggs
  • Onions
  • Tomatoes
  • Ginger-garlic paste
  • Yogurt
  • Red chili powder
  • Turmeric powder
  • Garam masala
  • Cloves, cardamom, and cinnamon
  • Fresh mint and coriander leaves
  • Ghee
  • Oil
  • Salt to taste

Preparation Steps:

  1. Begin by washing and soaking basmati rice in water for 30 minutes. Drain and set it aside.
  2. Boil the eggs until they are hard-boiled, peel them, and make small cuts on their surface for marination.
  3. In a pan, heat ghee and oil, and sauté cloves, cardamom, and cinnamon.
  4. Add sliced onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
  5. Stir in ginger-garlic paste, tomatoes, and spices. Cook until the tomatoes are soft and the oil starts to separate.
  6. Add yogurt, mint, and coriander leaves, and cook for a few more minutes.
  7. Layer the marinated eggs and partially cooked rice in a heavy-bottomed pot.
  8. Cover with a tight-fitting lid and cook on low heat until the rice is tender and the aroma fills the air.
  9. Garnish with fresh mint and coriander leaves before serving.
