Ingredients:
- Basmati rice
- Hard-boiled eggs
- Onions
- Tomatoes
- Ginger-garlic paste
- Yogurt
- Red chili powder
- Turmeric powder
- Garam masala
- Cloves, cardamom, and cinnamon
- Fresh mint and coriander leaves
- Ghee
- Oil
- Salt to taste
Preparation Steps:
- Begin by washing and soaking basmati rice in water for 30 minutes. Drain and set it aside.
- Boil the eggs until they are hard-boiled, peel them, and make small cuts on their surface for marination.
- In a pan, heat ghee and oil, and sauté cloves, cardamom, and cinnamon.
- Add sliced onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
- Stir in ginger-garlic paste, tomatoes, and spices. Cook until the tomatoes are soft and the oil starts to separate.
- Add yogurt, mint, and coriander leaves, and cook for a few more minutes.
- Layer the marinated eggs and partially cooked rice in a heavy-bottomed pot.
- Cover with a tight-fitting lid and cook on low heat until the rice is tender and the aroma fills the air.
- Garnish with fresh mint and coriander leaves before serving.
